Integrating dogs into family environments
Integrating dogs into family environments
My Story
Sharon Comber is the founder of K9hub which was created in loving memory of her two dogs Max and Charli.
Along with her passion for dogs and studying dog psychology and rehabilitation, her background is primarily in animal welfare. Both volunteering and working for the RSPCA for nearly 8 years, she has been challenged with a wide variety of dog behavioural issues, some obviously more complex than others however all requiring her compassion and understanding. She has seen first hand the shelters and rescues full to capacity with unwanted, abandoned, neglected and badly treated dogs. In many cases however, some of these dogs could have avoided the shelter had people and/or families had support in knowing how to deal with certain behavioural problems occurring around the home. Sharon’s goal is to build a business which will help educate the community and families on gaining better communication and understanding of their dogs behaviour in order to live fulfilling lives together.
For 6+ years, she has been helping families better understand their four-legged family members providing advice and guidance on common behavioural challenges to ensure a happy home environment.
Sharon's current dog, Snazzy was adopted from the RSPCA in 2018. She came from the RSPCA in Darwin where she could not cope with storms they have there regularly. Her condition was so bad that they sent her to Victoria to hopefully find her forever home in a less stressful place for her to live. She settled in nicely with Max and Charli who also enjoyed her playful energy.
Giving back
In giving back to the community and to the dogs who are very much in need of our help, K9hub will be donating 5% of your money every month to a variety of dog shelters and rescues such as RSPCA Australia and Soi Dog Foundation.
Shelters and rescues are regularly very much in need of the following items :
· Towels
· Sheets
· Dog beds
· Toys
· Newspapers
· Dog bowls
· Dog leads, collars & harnesses
If you would like to donate any of these items to a shelter or rescue, please contact K9hub.
When you live a busy life, it is hard to consistently provide the attention and care that your dog can demand.
We understand how dogs think, feel and act the way they do. We know how to solve problem dog behaviours and can also prevent behaviour problems from ever taking hold. The result is happier dogs, happier owners and better communication between the both of you.
We are always prepared for any dog's needs and ensure that your pet will receive the best care and love. Their happiness and understanding is our priority and we strive to provide a service we would want our own pets to receive.
The k9hub van is fully equipped, mobile extension of our commitment to your dog's well-being. Whether it's a fun-filled walking adventure, a behaviour consultation, or a check-in while you're away, our van ensures your pup's comfort and safety every step of the way. Outfitted with the latest amenities, the k9hub Dog Van brings our top-tier services right to your doorstep, making it easier than ever to keep your furry friend happy, healthy, and engaged.
We can help you understand your dog’s behaviour and help with a modification or management program that will allow you, and your beloved fur baby, to live in harmony.
We offer a range of services to suit your exact needs and help solve all your dog behaviour problems.
We always start with an initial consultation in your home where we can assess your dog in their environment and discuss what you are hoping to achieve. From there, we will provide a behaviour modification or management plan and recommend solutions to support your goals.
We offer support to those looking to adopt a dog from a shelter or animal rescue facility. We will help you find a dog best suited to your situation - whether it be a single person looking for a companion, a couple looking for a 'fur baby', a family looking to involve the kids or anyone else simply looking to bring a dog into their life. We also offer post adoption support to assist with settling your new dog into your home.
We offer behaviour walks designed to keep your dog physically fit and also mentally stimulated. We teach your dog good walking manners whilst also enjoying being out in the fresh air and using their nose to sniff their surroundings. A tired dog is a happy dog.
Additional services to support the care of your dog
We provide care for your fur baby as if they were our own, and ensure that they receive the highest quality care while you're away. We offer a customised service to meet your needs and may include feeding, walking, behaviour training, company, games or play time.
Does your dog hate bath-time and you or your house end up getting more wet than he does? We provide a dog washing service for those who prefer the beach, lake, mud, dirt not be brought back into the home.
We love helping dogs and families learn together! Schedule right here on our site for an initial behaviour training consult. If you have a special request, send us a message, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Dog trainers have experience in training methods and how a dog relates to learning. Dog behaviourists have an in depth knowledge of the dogs mind and will use psychology to gain the desired behaviour and may bring in elements of training to help support the behavioural modification plan.
Behaviour trainers will show you how to help your dog to feel better and resolve the problem through identifying and removing the underlying emotional distress involved, and then creating a tailor-made plan for you to follow that teaches your dog an alternative, more positive way of behaving instead.
Some of the behaviours that you may see in your dog might be :
· whimpering/whining/salivating or barking when you are not around
· destruction to the home or yard
· chewing items or belongings not meant for them
· jumping up on guests
· constant barking
· pulling towards other dogs or ‘things’ when on walks
· mouthing or grabbing at body parts or clothing items
· an inability to ‘settle’
· startled reactions to people or sounds
· ‘bossy’ behaviour towards other pets or family members
· not responding to what is ‘asked of them’
The above observations may be results of the following behaviour conditions we can identify and help modify :
· Separation Anxiety
· General Anxiety
· Fears and Phobias
· Settling into a new home or change of environment
· High Arousal or High Energy
· Resource Guarding
· Multi Dog Household
· Introducing your dog to your cat
