Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to  sharon@k9hub.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A dog trainer typically focuses on teaching skills such as sit, stay or loose-lead walking.
Behaviour support looks at why a dog behaves the way they do, including stress, fear, environment and emotional wellbeing, and helps address the underlying causes rather than just the visible behaviour.

Behaviour support provides clarity, guidance and practical strategies tailored to your dog and household. The goal is to help you understand what your dog is communicating and support positive change in a way that is kind, realistic and welfare-first.

Support is offered for a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety and fear-based behaviours
  • Reactivity and over-arousal
  • Behaviour changes following adoption or life changes
  • Settling-in challenges
  • Ongoing behaviour questions or concerns

If something falls outside the scope of support, guidance or referrals will always be provided.

Absolutely. Rescue and rehomed dogs are a large part of K9hub’s work, and support is tailored to help dogs settle, decompress and adjust at their own pace.

Yes. All support is grounded in welfare, understanding and kindness, with a focus on emotional wellbeing rather than control-based or aversive techniques.

Once you get in touch, you’ll be offered a brief initial call to discuss what’s been happening for your dog. From there, the most suitable next steps will be outlined.
